Creativity has been a life long passion for me.  I was an art major at the University of Utah and also attended Saddleback College to further study watercolor, life drawing and design.  I enjoy painting, photography, crafts, sewing, ceramics, tile work, woodwork, and have drawn blueprints for homes, including the home in which my husband and I now live.

I am drawn towards portrait painting because I can capture the personality, emotion and mood of a subject.  Extreme light and shadow play an important role in allowing me to do this.

My love of nature inspires many of my paintings.  I have also participated in many activities including, running, biking, swimming, tennis, kayaking, outrigger paddling, scuba diving and fishing.  My entire family has also been involved in all types of water sports.  I have a profound love for, and am most inspired by the ocean.

The endless  variety of materials that can be used in multi-media art intrigue me.  I enjoy exploring new ways to create paintings with this technique.
